Michael Brown | CPA |
CEO

  • He leads with a strong commitment to innovation, ensuring the firm stays ahead by seamlessly integrating advanced technology into their processes. His dedication to excellent client service focuses on clear communication and aligning strategies with clients' goals to ensure their growth and success. 

    Introduction:

    Originally from London, Ontario, and now living in Montréal, Michael is a music enthusiast who plays drums, guitar, and violin. He enjoys exploring ever-changing interests, including history, cooking, and learning new languages.

    Journey:

    Michael obtained his Bachelor of Commerce from Dalhousie University, with a major in accounting. His early career included working as a manager at McDonald's and completing several internships in accounting with companies both large and small. He spent almost a decade at Baker Tilly Nova Scotia, specializing in financial strategy and tax planning, which led him to co-found Bright Line CPA to better serve growth-focused businesses.

Richard Landzaat | CPA | CFO

  • He earned his CA designation in 1993 and has held senior financial roles across multiple corporations, including leadership in more than a dozen multi-million-dollar acquisitions handling due-diligence, investment memoranda, and consolidated forecasting. 

    Prior to this partnership, Richard operated as a full-time strategic advisor to owner-managed businesses out of Dartmouth, specializing in growth, operations and financial health. Outside of work he’s passionate about real estate, endurance sports (half & full marathons), and lives in Dartmouth with his wife Heather and their dog Mia. 

Stacey Thomas | CPA |
COO

  • She focuses on aligning the firm’s processes and team dynamics to ensure that everyone is set up for success and growth. Her leadership not only strengthens client relationships but also builds a solid foundation that ensures that the Bright Line team is cohesive, well-supported, and primed to thrive. 

    Introduction:

    Originally from Fredericton, NB, Stacey moved to Halifax in 2011 to explore new opportunities. She enjoys trying out new restaurants, spa days, and spending time with her family. Her love for people and knack for creativity find a home in both her personal and professional life.

    Journey:

    After graduating with a BBA from the University of New Brunswick, Stacey worked in several high-profile accounting roles, developing expertise in management and client services. Her experiences led her to co-found Bright Line CPA, aiming to create a firm that mirrors her values and vision for excellent client service.

  • He has an in-depth understanding of property accounting and GST/HST matters and has grown from Accounting Manager to Director during his time with the company. In his current role, he oversees accounting managers and bookkeepers, serves as the primary controller for multiple entities, and supports compliance by reviewing tax returns and compilation engagements.

    Outside of work, Adam is an avid sports fan who especially enjoys soccer and golf.

Adam Clarke | Fractional Controller

  • Introduction 

    Originally from the Annapolis Valley, Leigh‑Ann now lives in HRM and spends her free time cheering on her son at his sports games. Her happy place? Back in the Valley with family. Known for her calm presence and big-picture thinking, she brings both heart and expertise to the team. 

    Journey 

    Leigh‑Ann has held senior finance roles across a range of innovative industries—including health and wellness, engineering, manufacturing, and consumer goods. She’s led accounting teams through periods of rapid growth, supported strategic decision-making, and built systems that keep finance teams running smoothly. She also brings experience in project management, cost control, and navigating complex sectors like defense and advanced manufacturing. 

    Her drive to streamline workflows and deliver timely insights aligns perfectly with Bright Line’s modern, cloud-first approach. 

Leigh-Ann Gale | Fractional Controller

  • Her focus on fostering seamless onboarding through excellent communication and a fully outlined strategy ensures that clients feel supported and at ease with Bright Line as their financial partner.

    Introduction:

    Originally from Shelburne, now living in Halifax Shelley fell in love with the ocean and enjoys spending time at the beach. In the winter you can find her sampling the province's delicious craft beer, reading and spending time with her family.

    Journey:

    Shelley studied Sociology at St. Francis Xavier University before diving into business administration. Starting her career in public practice in 2011, and leading the transition to cloud accounting in 2017, she developed a comprehensive skill set that she now brings to her role at Bright Line Financial Services, enhancing the firm's service capabilities.

Shelley McDougall | Onboarding Specialist

  • Anita's proactive approach and commitment make a real difference in helping clients effectively manage and understand their finances. 

    Introduction:
    Born and raised in Halifax, Anita loves exploring the great outdoors, from hiking to camping in the HRM area. Inside, she's often found with a book or engaging in her love for arts and crafts, especially crocheting unique items like her cherished Snoopy sweater. Anita also enjoys spending quality time walking her dog, Dexter. 

    Journey:
    Anita pursued a diploma in Business Administration with an emphasis on accounting at NSCC. Her varied professional experience, from telecom sales at KOODO to retail technology roles at Apple, has equipped her with a broad skill set that enhances her accounting work at Bright Line Financial Services. 

Anita Sidhu | Senior Accountant

  • Introduction 

    Originally from the UK, Steven has called Canada home for over a decade. He's a dedicated football fan (soccer!), loves listening to podcasts, and enjoys quality time with his family, who keep him on his toes. You'll also catch him travelling to a new destination whenever the opportunity arises. 

    Journey 

    Steven earned his diploma in Business Administration with a focus on accounting. His career has taken him through different sectors such as hospitality, tech, and construction, where he honed his skills as a bookkeeper and accountant. His varied experiences have given him a unique insight into financial management.   

    Additionally, Steven is Cicerone certified, combining his expertise with a deep appreciation for craft beer.

Jakob Roizman | Accounting Technician

  • Introduction:
    A recent commerce co-op graduate from Dalhousie University, he spent his final co-op term at Brightline CPA and has remained on the team since

    Journey:
    Originally from Toronto, Jakob attended Dalhousie University and has since grown to love the east coast. He has used his co-op program to explore many areas of business including project management, structured investment sales, and now accounting. When he’s not at work, you can find him at the gym, the common tennis courts, or the beach.

  • Introduction:
    After earning a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Saint Mary’s University, she initially worked in Residential Support Care, before discovering her natural talent and interest in administrative operations.

    Journey:
    Julie brings with her over 15 years of rich administrative experience, shaped by a diverse background across government, engineering, IT, and CSR consulting sectors. She’s built a successful career supporting senior leaders, mentoring admin staff, and optimizing internal systems. When she’s not keeping Bright Line running smoothly, she’s enjoying time with her husband Kyle and their two children, Michael and Brie in Fall River, Nova Scotia.

  • Known for her sincerity and professional communication, Vishnu enjoys the satisfaction of solving accounting challenges and keeping everything on track. 

    Outside of work, she is passionate about singing and cooking, loves to travel, and enjoys experiencing nature and different cultures. She aims to be remembered by clients as a warm, reliable, and approachable professional. 

  • He enjoys the autonomy his role offers and finds it most rewarding when the impact of his work is recognized, transforming messy books into clean, reliable financials that set everyone up for success. 

    Introduction: 

    Originally from Toronto and now based in Calgary, Timor brings a friendly, team-oriented energy to everything he does. Outside of work, he enjoys cooking, hiking, kayaking, and swimming, anything that keeps him active and connected to nature. When it’s time to unwind, you’ll find him watching a good movie, catching a comedy show, or exploring something new just for fun. 

    Journey: 

    Timor holds a Bachelor of Commerce from York University and is currently enrolled in the CPA program. His career began in industry, where he worked his way up through various private firms giving him a strong understanding of accounting operations from the ground up. With earlier experience in customer service and sales, he brings a people-first mindset and a focus on delivering exceptional client experiences. 

    Now a trusted member of Bright Line’s onboarding team, Timor is often the go-to person for guidance and support, ensuring both clients and colleagues feel confident and well taken care of. 

Timor Tkach | Accounting Lead 

Kayla Bradford | Senior Accountant

  • Introduction: 

    Born and raised in Halifax, Kayla loves to be by the water, whether it’s a walk on the waterfront or out on the paddleboard with her family dog. She enjoys reading and finding new books to add to her ever-growing collection. 

    Journey: 

    Kayla attended NSCC where she received a diploma in Business Administration with a focus in accounting. Upon graduating, she began working in public accounting where she honed her skills in bookkeeping, and over the years, grew her skill set to include personal tax preparation. 

  • He specializes in full-cycle accounting, payroll processing, and financial reporting, helping businesses maintain efficiency and compliance. His technical expertise in Xero and QuickBooks, along with experience in SAGE and Dynamics 365, enables him to streamline accounting processes and provide clients with meaningful financial insights.

Kaitlyn Gammon | Senior Accountant

  • Introduction 
    Kaitlyn has lived in the Halifax Regional Municipality her whole life and is proud to call it home. Outside of work, she finds joy in life’s simple moments. She loves being outdoors—whether she’s walking the trail near her home or relaxing on her back deck enjoying the peace and quiet. Most of all, Kaitlyn treasures time with her family, especially playing and reading with her son, Parker. 

    Journey 
    With a diploma in Accounting and Payroll and over a decade of experience in the accounting industry, Kaitlyn brings both expertise and enthusiasm to her role at Bright Line Financial Services. Before joining the team, she worked as a Property Accountant at a commercial real estate firm—an experience that taught her the importance of accuracy, organization, and teamwork, which are skills she applies to everything she does today. 

  • Introduction: 

    Robin was born and raised in Halifax, specifically on the road to Peggy’s Cove. She enjoys volunteering as a head coach for her local basketball team and has been involved in the organization for the past ten years.  In her spare time, she loves to go to concerts, hangout with friends, play all kinds of sports, run and learn new crafts. 

    Journey: 

    Robin attended NSCC where she received her diploma in accounting. She then transferred her credits to MSVU where she completed her degree as a major in accounting and a minor in management. Once graduated, she worked in public accounting and private accounting to grow her knowledge and experience. 

Robin Ryan | Tax Technician 

  • Introduction 
    Sheena studied accounting at George Brown College in Toronto and later completed her bachelor’s degree with a major in accounting. She has built a strong technical foundation and a deep understanding of bookkeeping and financial processes, allowing her to support clients with confidence and care. Sheena was drawn to Bright Line for its welcoming culture, supportive team environment, and positive energy, and she values being part of a firm that prioritizes both its clients and its people. 

    Journey 
    Throughout her career, Sheena has gained hands-on experience across a range of accounting roles, developing strong skills in client support and financial operations. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her family and loves baking, often challenging herself to take on increasingly elaborate and impressive recipes. That same curiosity and dedication carry through into her work, where she is always looking for ways to improve processes and support her team and clients effectively. 

Sheena Deline | Accounting Lead

  • Journey: 
    Jessica began her career at BDO in Ontario, where she worked on Notice to Reader engagements, audits, reviews, and a wide range of personal tax returns, including complex filings involving investment income, medical expenses, farm operations, and rental properties. She later joined a fully remote tax firm supporting clients who were new to Canada, preparing first time returns and working with small owner operated corporations. This experience strengthened her ability to explain tax concepts clearly and guide clients through unfamiliar processes with confidence and care. 

    Beyond traditional accounting roles, Jessica also has experience in the automotive industry, which adds a practical, problem solving mindset to her approach. She describes herself as someone who enjoys understanding how things work and finding solutions. Having lived in four provinces, she now calls Nova Scotia home after moving to the Annapolis Valley in 2022. Outside of work, Jessica enjoys cooking and baking, woodworking and furniture making, tending her vegetable garden, and spending evenings playing board games and listening to music. 

Jessica Dupont | Tax Accountant

  • Journey:
    Rhonda has worked in the accounting and bookkeeping space supporting a diverse range of clients across industries. In her previous role as a Senior Accountant, she was responsible for delivering consistent and dependable financial reporting, helping clients stay on top of their numbers and make informed decisions. 

    She has hands-on experience with leading cloud accounting tools including QuickBooks Online, Xero, Hubdoc, and Dext, along with payroll administration through Wagepoint.

    Originally from the Greater Toronto Area, Rhonda now lives in Georgetown, Ontario, with strong family roots in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, where she visits regularly. Outside of work, she runs a monthly girls group she created, bringing people together through new activities, shared experiences, and meaningful connection. She is also a big fan of K-pop and loves the energy, music, and choreography.
